Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated:
ContentOS (operated by Alevate Spaces Pvt Ltd) respects your right to control your personal data. This page explains how to delete your account and all associated data, including data obtained via Facebook Login, Instagram Graph API, and other connected social platforms.
Option 1: Delete From Your Account Settings
The fastest way to delete your data:
- Sign in to contentos.social
- Navigate to Settings → Security
- Scroll to the Delete Account section
- Confirm your password and click Delete My Account
Account deletion is permanent. Your content, connected social accounts, OAuth tokens, uploaded media, and all personal data will be deleted within 30 days.
Option 2: Request Deletion by Email
If you cannot access your account, email us with your request:
Email: privacy@contentos.social
Subject: Data Deletion Request
Please include:
- The email address associated with your ContentOS account
- The name of the connected platform (if specific to Facebook/Instagram/etc.)
We will verify your identity and delete your data within 30 days of receiving the request. You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete.
Option 3: Disconnect Social Accounts Only
If you want to revoke ContentOS access to a specific social platform without deleting your entire ContentOS account:
- Sign in to contentos.social
- Go to Brands and select the brand containing the connection
- Open the Connections tab
- Click Disconnect next to the platform you want to remove
When you disconnect, we immediately revoke and delete the associated OAuth tokens and platform-specific data (profile info, posts metadata, analytics snapshots).
What Gets Deleted
- Your account (name, email, hashed password, profile)
- All ideas, content drafts, and scheduled posts you created
- All uploaded media (images, videos, documents) from our Cloudflare R2 storage
- OAuth access and refresh tokens for all connected social platforms
- Cached profile information and posts metadata from Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube
- Analytics snapshots and engagement data
- Workspace settings, team memberships, and permissions
- Brand credential vault entries (if used)
What We Retain (and Why)
We retain a limited subset of data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes:
- Billing records — retained for 7 years under Indian GST regulations (invoices, payment receipts)
- Anonymised usage logs — retained in aggregate form for service improvement (no personal identifiers)
- Fraud prevention records — retained only if you were involved in platform abuse or a legal dispute
Revoke Access From the Platform Side
You can also revoke ContentOS's access directly from the social platform's own app management settings:
- Facebook: facebook.com/settings → Business Integrations
- Instagram: Profile → Settings → Apps and Websites → Active
- LinkedIn: Settings → Data Privacy → Permitted Services
- X/Twitter: Settings → Security and account access → Apps and sessions → Connected apps
- YouTube/Google: myaccount.google.com/permissions
Revoking access on the platform side will cause ContentOS to lose the ability to post or fetch data, but does not automatically delete data already stored in ContentOS. To delete stored data, use Option 1 or 2 above.
